3 days ago on Tuesday October 11, Mason went for his 2 month check up. He is 14 lbs 8 oz! and 25 inches long!! That’s 97% in both height and weight. His head is also the 90th percentile. So, no wonder he’s in 6 month clothes! I couldn’t believe how big he is. I guess it’s deceiving because he’s not chubby at all. He’s long and lean so I had no idea he weighed so much or had grown 2 inches in the past month. I moved him up to size 3 diapers today which is so crazy to me. Mackenzie wasn’t even in size 2 until she was over 3 months old.
The doctor appointment was pretty uneventful. His thrush is gone and the doctor said he is perfect. She said he should be sleeping more at night, so we’re going to try to skip feeding him if he wakes up around 2 like he’s been doing. This might involve some “crying it out” but as long as it doesn’t wake up Mackenzie, I’ll try it. He is so unpredictable at night. Tuesday night after the doctor and having his shots, he slept from 11 to 5:15. It was wonderful! But, the next night he was up at midnight and 4. Then, he wouldn’t go back to sleep so I moved him to the swing and I slept on the couch. Last night he slept from 9:30 until 4, woke up again at 6, and slept until 8:15. That wasn’t too bad. We’ll see how it goes tonight!
Anyway, the doctor was fine and of course the shots were pitiful. He got two shots and one oral vaccine. He was a little more fussy than usual the rest of the day, but overall was fine. I need to really focus on lots of tummy time because he will need more strength to support all his weight.
