It has been about a week and a half since I last updated, and things have been going great! Last week we didn’t do anything extremely exciting. Mackenzie had picture day on Tuesday, and we got the proofs back today. They turned out ok – she had a scrape on her chin and wasn’t smiling in any of them. So, I don’t know if we’ll buy any. Richie went to Chicago on Thursday and came back on Friday. I wasn’t worried about being home alone except that I had to take Mackenzie to daycare and pick her up on Thursday. But, I managed to get the 2 kids and myself out the door Thursday morning by 8:30! Grandmama, Granddaddy, Karen, Andy, Jamie, and Melinda came to visit us on Saturday! They stayed for a couple of hours and we all had a great time visiting with each other. Mackenzie loved all the attention, especially since they came with gifts for her! They brought Sesame Street figures, a purse, and a stuffed Clifford.. perfect! And Grandmama even brought her some of her delicious legendary biscuits. There is nothing better than seeing my grandparents with their great-grandchildren. Of course, lots of pictures were taken and we all had a great time.
Over the past week, Mason has started regularly sleeping through the night and only getting up one time, usually around 3:3o to 4:30. Sunday night, we decided to take the plunge and put Mason in his crib!! It was so hard for me to make that jump. He looks so small in that big bed. The first night, he woke up at 2 and 5 to eat. After 5, he wouldn’t go back to sleep so we ended up back in the swing and the couch. Last night, the second night in the crib, he slept until 4, ate a little, and then slept until 8! He even slept through me getting mackenzie dressed and ready for daycare. She woke up on the wrong side of the bed so she was screaming as I was trying to change her diaper and get her clothes changed. So, I can’t believe he slept through all that. Saturday afternoon after my family left, we were doing tummy time and he rolled over! I know it was just an accident, but it was still a big “first!” He is now 100% in 3-6 month clothes which is so unbelievable to me. He’s even getting a little chunky. He loves to smile and coo. And, he has started spending some time under the ocean gym over the past few days. But, it’s hard to put him down there when Mackenzie is around because she wants to get under there with him. And, she’s so clumsy that she has almost fallen right on top of him several times. Also, she doesn’t have the concept of watching her feet and elbows, so she has kicked him and elbowed him in the head.
